Mytherine (mɪθəˈrin, Myths riverine)
Mytherine is a saga unfolding across many chapters, set in a fictional world rich with its own gods, myths, and legends—yet bearing echoes of our own. Our lyrics draw inspiration from the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, The Witcher and the Dark Souls series. Musically, we blend elements of melodic, progressive, and blackened death metal. With our epic storytelling and orchestral arrangements, we proudly embrace the banner of Epic Death Metal.

Biography
Mytherine is a melodic death metal band from Berlin, Germany, enriching the metal scene with a mixture of orchestral samples, dark atmospheres and epic riffs since its formation in 2011. Their music combines atmospheric melodies with brutal yet melodic guitar work and complex arrangements.
Musical style and influences
Mytherine’s music is heavily influenced by bands such as Septicflesh, Wolfheart, Daath and old In Flames. The mixture of orchestral elements, dark atmospheres and melodic death metal creates an independent and powerful soundscape. The lyrics revolve around the band’s own lore, inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Witcher and the Dark Souls series.
Band history
Mytherine was founded in 2011 and has since played in various cities across Germany. Through energetic live performances and strong musicianship, the band has built a solid reputation within the underground metal scene. After the debut album in 2015, only a few releases in the form of singles followed due to restructuring, the pandemic and other hurdles.
In 2024, the band began working on their EP EP 2024, which was recorded at Noir Surge Studio and released digitally in May 2024. After a rebranding, a music video for the song “Ash’teroth” followed in August 2024, offering a deeper insight into the dark atmosphere of their music.
The second album, Lord of Mountains, was originally planned for 2018, but was delayed for the reasons mentioned above. Since December 2024, Mytherine had been concentrating on its recording and production. The album was finally released on November 14, 2025, continuing the band’s dark and epic soundscapes with a modern sound and even stronger intensity.
Current projects
After the release of Lord of Mountains, Mytherine is now focused on the final polish of the next album, which has already been completely written. The upcoming material continues the band’s path of combining melodic death metal with orchestral depth, dark storytelling and epic intensity.
